ITINERARY

Detailed Itinerary: Uyuni Salt Flats Tour from Lima 4D/3N

📍Day 1: Lima – Arequipa – Puno

  • 12:30 PM: Departure from Lima by bus to southern Peru.
  • On the way, we will make a brief stop in Arequipa, ideal for stretching our legs and contemplating part of the volcanic landscape of the “White City.”
  • Then, we will continue our journey to the highland city of Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
  • Overnight in Puno.

📍Day 2: Puno – Free Day

  • Pickup at the Puno bus terminal and transfer to your hotel.
  • Free day to rest, acclimatize, or explore sites such as the Plaza de Armas, the Condor Lookout, or the Carlos Dreyer Museum on your own.
  • Overnight in Puno (passenger’s expense).

☀️Day 3: Puno – La Paz – Uyuni

  • 7:00 AM: Transfer from the hotel to the bus terminal.
  • Departure by tourist bus from Puno to La Paz, crossing Lake Titicaca through the Strait of Tiquina.
  • 2:00 PM: Arrival in La Paz. Free afternoon to explore the city: cable car, Witches’ Market, or El Alto.
  • 8:00 PM: Departure by night bus to Uyuni. Comfortable and direct journey.

🏞️Day 4: Uyuni Salt Flats – Incahuasi Island – Uyuni

  • 5:00 AM: Arrival in Uyuni. Reception at the bus terminal.
  • Free breakfast at a local cafe.
  • 10:30 AM: Start of the adventure in a shared 4×4.

Site Visited:

  • Train Cemetery: a mysterious industrial remnant of Bolivia’s mining boom.
  • Colchani: an artisan community where you’ll see the rustic salt process and handmade crafts.
  • Uyuni Salt Flats: Entrance to the immense white desert, visiting:

– Eyes of the Salt Flats

– Salt extraction mounds

– Salt Hotel – Playa Blanca (currently operating as a museum).

  • Incahuasi Island: Hike among ancient cacti on a volcanic rock island, with 360° panoramic views of the salt flats.
  • At the end of the experience, we will return to the town of Uyuni around 6:00 p.m., where the tour concludes.
